Learning to compete is an essential part of any tennis player’s development. Once a player can rally and serve they can start competing. Competitions help to develop a better understanding of the game and make coaching sessions (group or individual) more meaningful. When starting to compete it is important to choose the correct level in order to play against players of a similar standard. For this reason, British Tennis competitions are graded (7 – 1). You can find more information regarding competitions on the ‘Play and Compete’ tab on the LTA Homepage.
